Revise imperatives and learn more about reported commands by having a look at this video:

1- What are the most common reporting verbs?

2- Are there many other reporting verbs? How can we decide on the best reporting verb?

3- We have seen in the video that some reporting verbs must be followed by an object before the infinitive, as the common ones 'tell' and 'ask':
WHO (SUBJECT) + TELL/ASK + WHOM (OBJECT) + INFINITIVE

I told him to open the window.

But some verbs must not be followed by an object and others can be used in both ways. Try to put the following verbs in their appropriate place: advise, beg, agree, offer, encourage, invite, demand, refuse, order, remind, claim, promise, request, warn, decide.

Do you know the last Governor of California prior to Jerry Brown, the current one?

Sure! It is the famous Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican who was elected in 2003 for the first time. He starred popular films such as Conan the Barbarian or The Terminator.

And do you know the original name of Los Angeles?

It was 'El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles' but, obviously, the name had to be shortened.

Let's learn two English diphthongs in the next section!
