Paco visits Scotland and Wales: Towards the Highlands
In topic 2, you have learned about the Present Perfect Simple in detail, and we have compared it with the Past Simple.
In this topic, you are going to learn about the Present Perfect Continuous and we are going to see the difference between these tenses. While in the Present Perfect Simple translation into Spanish was not very advisable because it was not always 'correct', the Present Perfect Continuous is much more similar to Spanish.
Also, you are going to learn about the pronunciation of have and has as auxiliaries, and that stative verbs cannot be used in the Present Perfect Continuous.
We are going to start with a song!
Listen to the song and complete the gaps with these words: waiting, play, touch, find, say, searching, wanted, wait, feel. They can appear more than once.
In The Shadows (The Rasmus)
No sleepNo sleep until I am done with finding the answer
Won't stop
Won't stop before I a cure for this cancer
Sometimes
I feel like going down and so disconnected
Somehow
I know that I am haunted to be
I've been watching
I've been
In the shadows for my time
I've been
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
In the shadows
They
That I must learn to kill before I can safe
But I
I'd rather kill myself than turn into their slave
Sometimes
I feel that I should go and with the thunder
Somehow
I just don't wanna stay and for a wonder
I've been watching
I've been
In the shadows for my time
I've been
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
Lately I've been walking walking in circles, watching waiting for something
Feel me me heal me, come take me higher
I've been watching
I've been
In the shadows all my time
I've been
I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
I've been watching
I've been
I've been
I've been living for tomorrows
In the shadows
I've been
