Paco and Adam visited the so-called Georgian Dublin one day. It is called like that because the city acquired this style of architecture in the 18th century, in a time when King George was reigning. The most distinctive feature of this style are the colourful Georgian doors, which can be seen in different places in Dublin and which are a symbol of 'Welcome'.
It was a time of prosperity and, therefore, wide roads and squares were built as well as magnificent public and private buildings. The Custom House or The Four Courts are good examples of Georgian buildings nowadays. The James Joyce Centre is a restored Georgian residence which can be visited as well. If Paco and Adam had more time, they would visit every single house. But they had to choose and they decided to visit this centre as representative of this style and because the writer is one of the most important authors in the English literature.
Paco has learned a lot about James Joyce and he is feeling curious about his life and works. If his English was better, he would read some of his novels in its original version. In fact, when his English gets a bit better, he WILL read it in English.Verdadero Falso
